What I told my son when he turned 9.

I didn’t want to just hand him toys or gadgets he’d forget in a few weeks.

I wanted to hand him principles that would stick with him long after the birthday balloons were gone.

Because the best gift you can give your kid isn’t money.

It’s mindset.

I told him about grit, gratitude, and growth.

About what it means to take responsibility when things go wrong and to celebrate others when things go right.

It got me thinking.

These aren’t just lessons for kids.

They’re reminders every business owner needs to hear again.

You can chase more money, more deals, and more status all day long.

But if you lose your principles, none of it means a thing.
